Designed by Chester Beach, this commemorative was struck in observance of the famous battle of the Revolutionary War--the Battle of Lexington and Concord--whcih began after Paul Revere's famed ride. The obverse features a Minute Man with the words "Concord Minute-Man" along his side. The reverse features the Lexington Landmark of the Old Belfry, the church which sounded the alarm on that fateful day. The present example boasts rainbow color along the entire obverse and portions of the reverse peripheries framing pale champagne centers. The luster, technical merits and overall quality are outstanding. PCGS has graded only 4 higher, 3 MS67+s and the lone MS68 last sold in auction back in 2005 for $69,000.
